Barbie will host its first ever virtual premiere this weekend with the help of pop star, TV host and radio DJ Fleur East.

A jam-packed event will air exclusively on Saturday (23October) at 9.30am on Barbie UK Facebook, just before the new musical movie Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams debuts on POP at 10am.

This party is not to be missed by Barbie super-fans: immersive fun will bring the world of Barbie: Big City Big Dreams to life, with sneak peeks at the content including an intro to new characters, dance routines, unboxings, competition prizes up for grabs and a musical performance by Fleur.

Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams follows Barbie Roberts as she enrolls in a performance school in New York City and meets a fellow student named… Barbie Roberts! They become fast friends and quickly adopt nicknames inspired by their hometowns, Malibu and Brooklyn.

Barbie has been inspiring, empowering, and entertaining kids for decades. With 36 television specials, and countless episodic and YouTube series behind her, Barbie has evolved from a fashion doll to a cultural icon and, in recent years, has emerged as a relatable character and role model, sharing her own story and unique perspective with the world.

Fleur is an English singer who competed on the second series of ITV’s singing competition The X Factor in 2005. An accomplished host, she recently fronted The Void on ITV, competed in I’m A Celebrity in 2018 and will be seen on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway later this year. Her luminous personality, fierce fashion and talent made her the perfect pop star to introduce Barbie’s newest musical movie that champions friendship and following your dreams.

The movie, which was released nationwide in cinemas this summer, is Barbie’s biggest UK theatrical release to date. Kids can explore the world of Barbie: Big City Big Dreams with music on Spotify, through dolls and playsets inspired by the movie, and rock out with the new Just Play Barbie guitar.

Barbie ran a 360-degree marketing campaign including product TVC’s, POP sponsorship, Youtube and social campaigns to support the film.
