Character Group announces year end results

Character Group reports a positive outlook despite prevailing economic headwinds, with a strong portfolio set to be further bolstered at Toy Fair in January

Character Group has reported its results for the year ended 31 August 2025. The group says its performance was hindered in the second half by tariffs on imports to the USA from China. The economic uncertainty has lingered and had a dampening effect in all the group’s markets leading to a reduction in revenue to £100.5m, and profit before tax and other items down at £1.2m.

The group remains sanguine about its near-future performance, however.

“Our current portfolio is strong with popular sell out brands such as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Sticki Rolls Rolluxe, which featured in this year’s Dream Toys list,” the group said in a statement

“These are to be further supplemented with some excellent additions and extensions that are due to be shown at London Toy Fair next month. So far, response to our current and emerging ranges from our retail customers and distributors, has been extremely positive.

“As a result, despite the overall turnover remaining flat for the current financial year, the board expects the group’s FY26 profit (before tax and highlighted items) to be more than double that for the year under review.”

The group continues to have a strong balance sheet and cash reserves with the board and management optimistic about navigating challenges to come.
