Disney has just released a superb video featuring the title characters in scenes from the new live-action version of Lilo & Stitch. The reimagining of Disney’s 2002 animated classic is the story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family.
The 2 minute 30 seconds preview is set to the animated original’s “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride.” Iam Tongi and the Kamehameha Schools Children’s Chorus sing the song and, as one comment under the YouTube video said –
“Oh my gosh, the fact that they had the Kamehameha Schools Children’s Chorus sing again, but an entirely new generation of kids, makes me tear up!! And it’s the same singing teacher too, 23 years later.”
The film also features numerous songs by late rock ‘n’ roll legend, Elvis Presley. It is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp and stars Hannah Waddingham, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Chris Sanders, Courtney B. Vance, Zach Galifianakis and Maia Kealoha.
The film about the adorable, animated alien wreaking havoc for the people of Hawaii is set for release on May 21 in the UK and May 23 in the US. Plus, even as toy industry professionals, if your nearest cinema in the UK is Odeon, book in advance and you’ll have the chance to when a giant Stitch plush.
At the time of writing the video has had more than 750,000 views since it was first posted on YouTube on Friday.
