The range features new Lego minifigures of beloved characters, as well as the first Lego Super Mario set for kids aged four-plus
The Lego Group has revealed a new line of Lego Super Mario sets at Gamescom, the consumer video game show taking place this week in Cologne, Germany.
The sets feature new Lego minifigures of beloved characters with a refreshed Lego Super Mario theme, newly centred on creative Lego minifigure roleplay action.
Patrick Otley, Design Manager at the Lego Group, said: “This is an amazing celebration of our partnership with Nintendo, bringing Super Mario to LEGO minifigure form feels like the start of something special.
“Giving kids what they want and need to build and create their own stories and adventures was our ambition, extending and enhancing playtime through these iconic characters. We want to give our fans more freedom to play the way they want to, and with the addition of Lego Super Mario minifigures, we hope kids will be even more inspired.”
The sets include iconic characters and moments from the Nintendo mascot’s many video game adventures. Mario jumping out of a pipe, ready to begin his adventures is an image that many fans will recognise with familiarity and fondness. Fans can recreate the action with Mario’s Pipe Jump featuring the all-new Lego Super Mario minifigure. They can even catapult Goomba out of the way with the lever so Mario can collect his coin.
For fans of Mario and co’s racing escapades, the Mario Kart – Racing with Mario set comes complete with a built-in launcher to send shells flying. And for younger fans, the Mario Kart – Luigi & Bowser Jr.’s Race invites kids to pit Luigi against Bowser Jr. in a thrilling race. This is the first Lego Super Mario set for kids aged four-plus, meaning even more fans can take part in the fun.
The new Lego Super Mario sets will begin rolling out at retail from 1 January 2027.
