Playmobil and Barbie are joining forces for a new collection inspired by Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures, combining two established names in imaginative play across a range of buildable playsets and figures.
Launching in the UK through selected retailers including Argos, Very and Hamleys, the Playmobil x Barbie collection comprises five products, priced from £9.99 to £99.99. The range includes Malibu and Brooklyn figures alongside the Adventure Boat, Beach Café and Waterpark.
The collection brings together Barbie’s colourful world and Playmobil’s hands-on, buildable approach to play, giving children the opportunity to create their own stories and scenarios. From beach days and café visits to waterpark adventures and trips out on the water, the sets are designed to encourage open-ended storytelling.
For retailers, the collection combines a globally recognised character brand with multiple price points, offering options across gifting and impulse purchases as well as larger playsets.
Jamie Dickinson, Head of Marketing at Playmobil, said the partnership was designed to encourage children to take an active role in creating their own stories.
“Barbie has always encouraged children to believe they can be anything. Playmobil gives them the tools to act those ideas out, build the world around them and decide where the story goes next through play,” he said.
The Playmobil x Barbie Waterpark, Beach Café and Adventure Boat form the centrepiece of the collection, while the Malibu and Brooklyn figures bring familiar characters into the Playmobil format.
The collaboration also gives fans a way to engage with the Barbie brand through physical, screen-free play, with the buildable sets allowing children to create, change and recreate their own Barbie inspired adventures.
The new collection arrives as both brands continue to leverage their strong heritage in imaginative play, combining recognisable characters and storytelling with Playmobil’s established construction-based format.
