The Insights Family undertake coastal cycle for charity

Founder Nick Richardson and Principal Web Developer Mark Armstrong will tackle a 24-hour ride in October

Two members of The Insights Family team will put their pedal to the metal to raise vital funds for charity next month.

Founder Nick Richardson, and Mark Armstrong, the company’s Principal Web Developer, will cycle for 24 hours in October in support of The Christie Charity.

“It’s still a blur how we came up with this idea, but now we have said we are going to do it, I am looking forward to the challenge and raising some money for Christie a pioneering cancer charity”

The self-professed “very amateur cyclists” aim to cycle around Anglesey in Wales in the hopes of raising more than £1,000 for the cancer centre. The circumnavigation will get underway at 4am on 16 October, when the daring duo will set off around the island’s 200km coastline.

“It’s still a blur how we came up with this idea, but now we have said we are going to do it, I am looking forward to the challenge and raising some money for Christie a pioneering cancer charity,” said Mark. “I just hope the wind is blowing in our direction!”

The Christie is a specialist cancer centre in Manchester with more than 120 years of expertise in cancer care, research and education. It is the largest provider of radiotherapy in the NHS and is home to the largest chemotherapy unit in the UK,  treating 60,000 patients each year, 74% of whom are from the North West of England.

The team has set a fundraising goal of £1,000 and supporters can contribute via their JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/page/relaychallenge

“It seemed a good idea at the time, and despite zero training to date, I very much hope we will be able to make last orders, and more importantly raise some money to support the incredible work that the Christie does,” Nick added.
