A glorious morning welcomes buyers and exhibitors in Harrogate for the start of the Toymaster May Show
Blue skies and glorious sunshine greet retailers and exhibitors for the opening day of the Toymaster May Show in Harrogate this morning.
More than 100 toy suppliers are packed into the Majestic Hotel and its grounds for three days of product discovery and networking. It’s the show many in the trade look forward to each year – and for good reason. The event is known for brisk business, as independent retailers from across the country make their product selections for the peak season.
“This is a very important show to us as it’s the ones time of year that all members can meet suppliers in one place,” said Asmodee sales lead Greg Ewart.

Sam Bucknall, head of sales UK and EU at costume specialist Smiffys, says the team will be out in force. “Our team are always on the road visiting our high street customers, but this show giuvs us the opportunity to present our new costumes and licences, alongside existing products are independent customers may yet considered.”
Alongside product showcases and order forms, retailers and supplies will let their hair down for Disco Night in the Majestic this evening – just one of the evening events planned for this year’s show. Retailers and suppliers are encouraged to turn up, grab a seat and enjoy themselves. The event starts at 8pm (though if past years are anything to go by, their will be drinks beforehand) and the dress code is smart casual. Tomorrow evening, the cream of the crop will be recognised at the Toymaster Awards Dinner.
