Warren Du Preez joins Toy Retailers Association board

The Senior Buyer Controller at WJ Daniel department stores brings more than 20 years of toy retail experience to the organisation.

The Toy Retailers Association has welcomed Warren Du Preez to its board.

Warren is currently Senior Buyer Controller at WJ Daniel department stores with direct responsibilities for toys, gifts, sports, and occasions categories, and has worked in the toy industry for over 20 years, starting out as an assistant toy buyer after graduating from a medical background.

“I’m passionate at developing experiential retail within toy settings,” he said. “Combining analytical thinking, alongside commercial acumen, has allowed me to thrive in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment and I am delighted to bring that enthusiasm and experience to the Toy Retailers Association and represent the wider toy retail membership”.

Geoff Sheffield, Chairman of the Toy Retailers Association, said: “We are pleased to welcome Warren to the board. His years of toy retailing experience, and his experience in the important department store category, will add to the wisdom of the board and our collective ability to represent the interests of our toy retail members to the media, government and other stakeholders. And we are now also covered for any medical emergencies during our meetings too! Welcome, Warren.”
