Bigjigs Toys, Edx Education and Make Believe Ideas will create ranges of toys as part of the ZSL’s wider anniversary licensing programme for 2026
Zoological Society of London (ZSL) has announced a series of new toy licensing partnerships coinciding with its 200th anniversary.
Bigjigs Toys will develop a range of jigsaws and wooden toys inspired by London Zoo’s iconic animals and heritage. The collection will focus on quality, play value and sustainability, aligning closely with ZSL’s conservation ethos.
Edx Education has secured the licence to create educational STEAM toys, designed to inspire curiosity, problem-solving and learning through play. The range will draw on ZSL’s scientific expertise and global conservation work, with products developed in collaboration with ZSL to ensure educational accuracy and relevance.
Make Believe Ideas, meanwhile, will create a collection of plush toys, plush accessories, stationery and books, bringing London Zoo’s animals to life through playful, accessible designs for younger audiences.
The new partnerships form part of a wider licensing programme celebrating two centuries of conservation, science, education, and connecting people to nature, with each partner bringing their expertise and a strong educational focus to the London Zoo and ZSL brands.
Other partners include Woodmansterne for a greetings cards; Loungers for a collection of organic cotton ZSL loungewear; and Willsow, which has developed a paper made of poo from the charity’s London and Whipsnade zoos, which will be used to create a children’s book and puzzle.
“As we celebrate our 200th anniversary throughout 2026, these new partnerships and products are a wonderful way to bring people closer to nature,” said Abbie Taylor, Brand Licensing Manager, London Zoo. “By working with partners who share our values around education, quality and sustainability, we can inspire curiosity about wildlife, connect more people with the natural world, and generate meaningful support for conservation in the UK and across the globe.”
