US science toy company Blue Marble teams with Mattel on a new line of Barbie-themed STEAM products launching internationally from this summer
US science toy company Blue Marble has inked a worldwide licensing agreement with Mattel for a new line of Barbie-themed STEAM products.
The collection unites the aspirational and imaginative world of Barbie with hands-on learning experiences rooted in the core pillars of STEAM to make educational play engaging and accessible for children. Blue Marble will launch the new Barbie STEAM activities line at major e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retailers in the US and Canada this summer, followed by a broader international rollout.
“With decades of global impact reflecting diverse STEAM role models and reinforcing the ‘You Can Be Anything’ mantra, Barbie has inspired generations of girls to dream big and imagine their limitless possibilities,” said Jared Wolfson, Blue Marble CEO. “We’re proud to extend that legacy with our line of STEM, STEAM and STEAM activity products, designed to spark imagination, build confidence and make learning a playful adventure — empowering children to unlock their highest potential.”
Designed and developed for kids from four to 12-plus years old, the Barbie STEAM toy programme will include a broad assortment of products and price points, which will be previewed at New York Toy Fair on Booth 5835.
“The Barbie brand’s legacy is rooted in inspiring confidence, creativity, and possibility, and this collaboration with Blue Marble allows us to bring that promise to life through meaningful STEAM play,” said Meredith Norrie, Vice President, Head of Global Consumer Products, Mattel, Inc. “By combining Barbie’s global reach with Blue Marble’s expertise in science-based innovation, we’re creating engaging, discovery-driven products that encourage kids to explore big ideas and imagine what they can become.”
