Fans of Bluey have been given their first look at the much anticipated The Bluey Movie, with the first teaser trailer and poster unveiled at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
The new CG-animated feature, based on the Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning series, will see Bluey, Bingo, Mum and Dad, head to the big screen for an all-new adventure. The film is set during an action-packed day when a major surprise changes everything for the Heeler family.
The teaser was revealed to a packed Honda Center audience during D23, where fans were also treated to a surprise game of Keepy Uppy featuring Bluey’s iconic red balloons. The trailer and poster are now available for fans and retailers to share ahead of the film’s theatrical release on 6th August 2027.
The movie is written and directed by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and produced by Ludo Studioin collaboration with BBC Studios, with Walt Disney Studios handling theatrical distribution.
Amber Naismith is producing, with Richard Jeffery co-directing. Returning voice talent includes Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as Mum (Chilli) and Dad (Bandit).
The announcement is significant for the toy industry, with Bluey already established as one of the world’s biggest family entertainment properties. In 2025, Bluey was the most-streamed programme in the US for the second consecutive year, recording 45.2 billion minutes streamed. It was also the No. 1 kids’ show on both CBeebies and Disney+ in the UK.
The first feature-length Bluey adventure is expected to provide further opportunities across toys, games, collectibles and other licensed products as anticipation builds towards its 2027 cinema release.
