Based on Rebecca Yarros’ hit ‘romantasy’ book series, the hotly anticipated board game adaptation hits stores later this month
Goliath Games has announced the launch of Fourth Wing: Rise of the Wingleader, the board game adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’s record-breaking fantasy series.
The game officially launches on 15 July, celebrated by fans of the ‘romantasy’ series as Conscription Day.
“Fans have made Fourth Wing a cultural phenomenon, and we wanted to honour that passion with a game that feels like a true extension of the Empyrean universe,” said Julie Doverspike, Global Games Brand Director, Goliath Games. “From exclusive character artwork to fan-selected creative elements, every decision was made with the community in mind. We’re excited to celebrate Conscription Day by inviting players to step into the world of Basgiath and forge their own path to becoming Wingleader.”
Inspired by the bestselling Empyrean series, Fourth Wing: Rise of the Wingleader brings the world of Basgiath War College to life, featuring fierce riders, legendary dragons, and heart-stopping romance. The characters of Violet Sorrengail and Xaden Riorson are fully realized through stunning original artwork created exclusively for the game. Every copy also includes a specially designed metal Tairn bookmark that doubles as a first-player marker, giving fans a collectible keepsake that seamlessly integrates into gameplay.
The game was designed by a team deeply devoted to Yarros’s world, ensuring every detail captures the spirit of the series. In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, the fandom also played a direct role in shaping the final product: Tairn’s character art was selected through a fan vote on Instagram, giving readers a unique opportunity to help bring Basgiath to the tabletop.
