The winners of the 2026 Independent Toy Awards have been announced, highlighting the products that independent toy retailers believe should be on parents’ Christmas shopping lists this year.
Organised by Toy Shop UK, the awards are now in their 19th year and are voted for exclusively by independent toy retailers listed in the online directory. The awards aim to provide an insight into the products gaining support from the independent retail sector ahead of the key Christmas trading period.
Gold, silver and bronze medals have been awarded across the various categories, while a few other products received a commendation after narrowly missing out on a top three position.
Toy Shop UK founder Michael Hawkins said this year’s winners reflected the diversity of the independent toy retail sector.
“This year’s list of winning toys features a truly diverse mix of products which I think perfectly reflects the life, character, and occasionally eclectic nature of the independent toy retailers that bring so much to this industry,” he said.
The awards provide manufacturers and suppliers with a retailer-led indication of the products that could prove popular during the crucial Christmas season, while giving independent retailers a platform to recognise products they believe offer strong appeal to their customers.
