Six new Lego sets inspired by the second season of Netflix’s live-action One Piece show have been unveiled – alongside a Lego One Piece animated special
The Lego Group, Netflix and Tomorrow Studios have revealed six new Lego One Piece sets inspired by Season 2 of the hit live-action show, which premiered in March.
Based on Eiichiro Oda’s legendary and beloved manga series, Season 2 of this live-action adaptation sees the Straw Hat crew travel to the Grand Line, a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. There, they’ll visit bizarre islands, recruit more allies, and battle formidable new foes as they search for the world’s greatest treasure. Season 2 is streaming now exclusively on Netflix.
The new collection includes the Lego One Piece Tony Tony Chopper set; Lego One Piece Dr. Hiriluk’s Hideout set; Lego One Piece Dorry vs. Brogy – Giants of Little Garden set; Lego One Piece Battle at Drum Castle set; Lego One Piece Garp’s Marine Battleship set; and the Lego One Piece Showdown with Captain Smoker set.
“As a huge fan of the manga series and Netflix’s incredible live action retelling, it’s such an honour to continue working on bringing the world of Netflix’s One Piece series to life in Lego brick form”, said Yi-Chien Cheng, Associate Design Lead on Lego One Piece. “Tony Tony Chopper has always been a standout character for me and many other fans, so it was such a pleasure to try and recreate him as faithfully as possible using the Lego System in Play. Getting to work closely with Oda Sensei on bringing Chopper to Lego One Piece has been a career highlight.”
Announced earlier this week, a two-part Lego One Piece animated special is coming this September, exclusively on Netflix. The animated special, a first for Netflix, hails from the Lego Group and Atomic Cartoons, and retells the epic events of the first two seasons with comedy, high-stakes thrills, and brick-built action.
