Five Ravensburger puzzles were designed specially for the second annual speed puzzling event, held last weekend in Bradford
Five brand-new Ravensburger puzzles were unveiled for the first time last weekend, as more than 600 competitive puzzlers took part in the UK Nationals 2026 speed puzzle championship in Bradford.
Organised by the United Kingdom Jigsaw Puzzle Association, the second annual championship expanded to include qualifying rounds for the Solo division and the newly introduced Teams division.
As exclusive sponsor, Ravensburger developed five puzzles for the competition – all kept strictly under wraps until the clock in each category began. The company’s Bicester-based team worked with UK artists to create the range, consulting with the UKJPA to determine the final lineup which saw designs from Angela Holland; Eleanor Tomlinson; TV’s Jim Moir of Sky Arts’ Painting Birds with Jim & Nancy Moir; Jane Tomlinson, and Kevin Walsh.
The puzzles were: Camping Adventures 500-piece, by Angela Holland; Jigsaw Puzzle Competition 500-piece by Eleanor Tomlinson; Bird Colour Wheel, a 500-piece circular by Jim Moir (aka Vic Reeves); Old Father Thames 1000-piece by Jane Tomlinson; and The Need for Speed 500-piece by Kevin Walsh.
Katy Fletcher, Head of Marketing and Product Development, Ravensburger, said: “We’re seeing such momentum behind speed puzzling as it brings people together all over the world. We’re delighted to be playing our part in making that happen too, in events of this magnitude, as well as grassroots activities.
“Once again, it’s been an incredible experience to see our championship designs being pieced together for the first time. It’s been fantastic to have so many of the artists join us at the event to meet competitors, and as always, the UKJPA and speed puzzle community made us so welcome.”
The attending artists joined in with starting the countdown to each race and seeing first reactions to their designs. The event saw fun, friendship and plenty of nail-biting action, as some victories were achieved with less than a second to spare. The two-day competition was streamed live on YouTube with jigsaw fans watching the fast-paced puzzling from all over the world.
