Tristan Brooks, MD of Storytime Media, shares his insight into making media impactful for the rest of 2026 and his early pick for best toy campaign of the year
In the September issue of TnP, Tristan Brooks, Managing Director of kids and parents specialist media agency Storytime Media, shared insight into making media impactful as toy companies head into the all important golden quarter.
He explored how best to cut through the blur of infinite scroll social media (“do something fun and engaging, away from the competition”) and his thoughts on how AI is and will continue to impact marketing and advertising in the months and years ahead.
“We’re now starting to see brands experimenting and integrating AI creative into ad campaigns,” he told us. “This is in the early stages and we’re now seeing both benefits and pitfalls, especially on platforms where consumers can comment! Gen Alpha can be particularly vocal about AI advertising, especially if it’s not labelled and may come inauthentic.
“I’d be remiss not to mention the upcoming kids’ social media ban in spring 2027,” he added. “This will obviously have significant implications, especially for how toy companies approach marketing to child audiences in TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.”
