Inspired by the idea of a traditional Saturday night takeaway, retailers received dedicated POS window stickers, posters, and till wobblers, plus branded takeaway bags
Rubies and Smiffys are launching Saturday Fright, a new Halloween retail campaign designed to help independent costume stores drive footfall and celebrate shopping local during the peak Halloween season.
Inspired by the idea of a traditional Saturday night takeaway, in line with this year’s Saturday Halloween, the campaign positions participating stores as ‘Your Local Saturday Fright Takeaway’, encouraging consumers to visit their local costume retailer for a fun, in-person shopping experience.
Retailers taking part have received a dedicated POS kit featuring window stickers, posters, till wobblers and branded takeaway bags, helping create a strong Halloween presence both in-store and on the high street.
Fran Hales, Head of Creative at Rubies said: “Saturday Fright is all about celebrating the role independent retailers play at Halloween. By creating a fun, recognisable campaign built around the idea of a local takeaway, we’re helping retailers generate excitement in-store, drive footfall and encourage consumers to shop local as they prepare for Halloween.”
With Halloween falling on a Saturday this year, the campaign focuses on the key weekends leading up to 31 October, giving retailers an easy to implement activation that adds theatre, visibility and engagement during an important trading period.
The campaign extends beyond the store with Saturday Fright takeaway bags, designed to increase visibility in local communities while reinforcing the message of supporting independent retailers.
The initiative forms part of Rubies and Smiffys’ ongoing commitment to supporting bricks-and-mortar retailers and helping them make the most of one of the biggest seasonal opportunities in the dress-up calendar.
