Asmodee brought a selection of its travel games to SW19 to keep tennis fans entertained as they queued for Wimbledon tickets
The power of play came to the rescue of those participating in one of Britain’s most iconic summer rituals this week: queuing for tickets to the home of lawn tennis in SW19.
Fans were surprised with travel-friendly games to help them pass the time, break the ice with those around them, and make memories while they waited. Asmodee was behind the playful solution to queue boredom, with a team on hand throughout the day to surprise and delight those hoping to step through the iconic turnstiles.
Queuing is part of the sporting tournament’s magic, but it can also mean long waits in the summer sun. Asmodee’s aim was to make the waiting feel like part of the experience, using quick-to-learn games to spark conversation, connection and a little friendly competition, proving that play can bring people together anywhere (even in a queue).
Lindsay Cooper, Senior Marketing Brand Manager at Asmodee, said: “Queueing is a uniquely British pastime, where people with a shared interest are full of excitement, anticipation, with a generous helping of patience required. Today we wanted to turn that waiting into something people actually enjoy, using games to break the ice and create little moments of connection.”
