Hasbro and Amazon MGM partner on The Game of Life movie

Filmmaking duo Sean Anders and John Morris are on board for The Game of Life feature film, with Hasbro Entertainment’s Zev Foreman also producing

Hasbro Entertainment is producing The Game of Life, a feature film in development at Amazon MGM Studios based on one of the most iconic and beloved board games in history.

Sean Anders is directing the film from a script by Allan Loeb, with Hasbro Entertainment’s Zev Foreman producing alongside Chernin Entertainment’s Peter Chernin and David Ready, and Sean Anders and John Morris. Plot details for the film are currently being kept under wraps.

Sean Anders and John Morris are a veteran filmmaking duo who have directed, written, and produced numerous hit films over the past two decades. They both wrote and produced the Apple TV musical comedy Spirited, starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds, and Instant Family, starring Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne. Their other credits include Horrible Bosses 2, Dumb and Dumber To, We’re the Millers, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, Hot Tub Time Machine, and She’s Out of My League.

Hasbro says The Game of Life film is part of its ongoing strategy to elevate storytelling and produce films and series based on its most iconic brands. It joins recently announced projects such as a re-imagining of Clue (Cluedo) across film and television (both scripted and non-scripted) with Sony, as well as a variety of film and TV format adaptations for its other hit properties, including Dungeons & Dragons, Monopoly, Magic: The Gathering, Power Rangers, My Little Pony, Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble.
