The July highlight is a superb and entertaining review of the soaring success of the UK Games Expo (UKGE) show. Gaming store, Beacon Games, is run by a passionate team of gamers and they hurtled up to the NEC for us. The energy and enthusiasm at UKGE – ever more popular year on year – was incredible and sizzled through our guys as you’ll see. Small teaser: “We naturally gravitated toward ButtChess because, well, who wouldn’t?”

The Epoch cover story is, as you might expect, about the Sylvanian Families who are celebrating their 40th anniversary of inspiring and being loved by their real-world equivalents – from young children to parents – and now, increasingly, the kidult market.
We showcase Trading Card Games, Dolls & Accessories, Science & Nature and the ever popular category of Party Products & Dress Up. Well worth a read.

On the retail side, Clare Turner has two excellent interviews. One of them, with Totally Toys, is so heartwarming, it will make you want to hug yourself.

Still on retail, we have a timely piece about stores going green. John Ryan, our regular retail columnist, responds to this with a perceptive analysis of sustainability in the retail sector.
Enjoy the read.
