The new social media-driven party games company will showcase its full launch line-up after a sizzling debut at Melbourne Toy Fair
Regrettable Games, the new social media-driven party games company dubbed “the standout success” of Melbourne Toy Fair in March, is readying its full launch line-up for the LA Spring Preview next week.
Founded by siblings Josie and Harry North, the company is running hot off a successful debut at Australia’s biggest toy event. Kris Thompson, CEO of leading Aussie toy company Banter Toys said the company “took everyone by surprise”. “The retailers loved the games and they’ve been listed by the majors straight out the gate,” he added. “They look amazing!”
“If I’m honest, it was a pretty nerve-wracking moment showing the finished games to major retailers for the first time. Up until then, it had all been prototypes and belief – mostly ours”, said Regrettable co-founder Harry North.
Following its early success in Australia, Regrettable Games has appointed Radical Games (Abacus Brands) for North America and is now actively appointing distribution partners globally including a UK distributor and/or retailers direct.
Regrettable Games will be showcasing its full launch line up in El Segundo next week. With a clear ethos of simple rules and a mission to be discovered on social media and built to drive IRL (In-Real-Life) connections through memorable moments people can’t help but share, Regrettable will be launching three unique party games.
Each is designed with a unique and instantly ‘scroll-stopping’ prop and laugh-out-loud content designed to go viral with a little help from friends and investors The Sidemen, one of the world’s biggest YouTube creator groups, with 240 million combined followers across social media channels.
Josie North added: “We’ve been working to get our format and game mechanics right for three years. Getting the content right is just as important though and we’re lucky to have the support of some incredible creators including the co-ownership of the Sidemen who believe in what we’re building and inspired one of our games, Split or Steal.”
Interested distributors and retailers are invited to get in touch at the LA Spring Previews from 20-25 April at GameOn International, 1960 building, 6th floor, suite 600. Email harry@regrettablegames.com and steven@gameonintl.com for more.
