The new location launches in time for the airport’s 80th anniversary celerbations, with a host of family activities planned throughout the summer
Hamleys has opened its latest location at Heathrow Terminal 2, bringing its signature blend of play and imagination to one of the world’s busiest travel hubs.
The new 1,000 sq. ft Terminal 2 store celebrates Heathrow’s 80th birthday, and will offer Hamleys’ iconic bear range, novelty gadgets, pocket money toys, travel-friendly games and puzzles, tech toys, dolls, action figures, and construction sets from LEGO and Playmobile.
Keane Herman, Hamleys’ Head of UK Retail, said: “We know just how exciting a journey through the airport can be for a child and nowhere more so than the amazing Heathrow which has become one of the world’s most connected and recognisable airports over the last 80 years. We wanted to celebrate the airport’s incredible achievements and in particular, the global lead they have taken in transforming the retail and hospitality experience in airports everywhere.”
To mark the launch and celebrate the airport’s anniversary, Hamleys will run a number ofspecial events throughout the summer. In July, the Great Heathrow Treasure Hunt challenges families to follow clues and solve puzzles across Terminal 2. It’s the perfect way to keep children engaged and excited while you wait for your flight. Look out for Hamley Bear along the route — prizes to be won.
In August children can check in their beloved soft toys at a specially designed Teddy Bear Check-In Desk, complete with miniature passport stamps and boarding passes from Hamleys Airways — mirroring the real airport experience. Special Hamleys goody bags are included for every participating child.
Throughout the summer, the famous Hamley Bear and Hamleys’ acclaimed entertainment team will lead children’s parades through the terminal. Exclusive Heathrow promotions and special offers are available in-store throughout the season.
