Fans flocked to see the Jada Toys and Disney Plush showcases, and unbox their favourite characters from the Disney YuYus range
Simba Smoby thrilled visitors at Comic Con London with its Jada Toys and Disney Plush ranges last weekend.
Over the past four years, the company’s Jada Toys and Disney Plush showcases have become must-see attractions for the 120,000-plus annual visitors, who flock to see the latest productsfrom their favourite licensed worlds.
Adding to the stand’s theatre this year was a real 2003 Nissan 350z to celebrate the 25thanniversary of the Fast & Furious franchise. The car, which featured in the Fast X movie, drew crowds all weekend and complemented Jada’s range of 1:24 and 1:32 scale Fast & Furious cars.
Ben Hogg, Head of Marketing at Simba Smoby UK, said: “MCM Comic Con has become a key date in our Jada and Disney Plush marketing calendars. Putting the toys physically in front of fans and creating theatre around that moment is a winning formula as the whole experience becomes one they’ll remember and positively associate with the brands for a long time to come.
“It’s been a huge year for licensed franchises with the likes of Toy Story 5 and Spider-Man doing so well at the box-office. We’ve really been able to capitalise on that hype at Comic Con by showing fans the quality and authenticity of our toys. In the few short years we have been attending, we’ve managed to build a strong connection with visitors and our stand becomes busier with every show!”
Elsewhere on the stand, queues formed as visitors lined up to get their hands on hotly anticipated exclusives from Jada’s Deluxe Action Figure collection. The Street Fighter and Invincible figures were revealed through Jada’s social media and newsletter database in the run up to the show, with all items selling out on Day 1.
Visitors also relished the chance to unbox their favourite Disney Stitch and Winnie-the-Pooh characters from the bestselling Disney YuYus range. Now in Series 2, the blind boxedwearable plushies proved a hit with kids and kidults alike.
